Presenting the live stage production -- "DARK SIDE OF THE YULE" -- has become an annual tradition for Tom Lounges Entertainment at Hobart Art Theater, and we're bringing a newly revised 2024 version of this performance back for the fourth consecutive year on Saturday, December 21st.

The new 2024 version of the production of "DARK SIDE OF THE YULE" has evolved since last year's performance, and is anchored by songs from the group's brand new album of seasonal fare -- " WHITER SHADE OF WINTER " -- which drops in early November.

"DARK SIDE OF THE YULE" is a uniquely crafted and skillfully arranged evening of holiday music including brilliant mash-ups of pop/rock hits and various Christmas classics, along with fresh takes on medieval carols, and some original holiday songs, culminating in a mind-blowing musical performance.

"DARK SIDE OF THE YULE" includes holiday treatments of songs by Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, Cranberries, Moody Blues, Metallica, Evanesence, and others. The holiday season will never be quite the same after experiencing Classic Blast live.

 Tom and I opened the first store in the Spring of 2018 and the second location in the Fall of 2020 here is a little history!

TOM LOUNGES' RECORD BIN is a unique record shop located in Northwest Indiana. We had two locations - Hobart & Michigan City, IN -- which carry new and pre-loved vinyl, Audio-Technica turntables, crystals, t-shirts, CD's, Cassettes, coffee mugs, and other pop culture items, Black Squirrel Crossing Guitar pick Jewelry, and collectibles.  

The Hobart store was founded in 2018 in Hobart, Indiana by Tom Lounges, who brings to the business over 40 years experience in various aspects of the music business -- as a radio and television broadcaster, print journalist, artist agent and manager, record label annotator, publicist, and event producer.  

He also brings many years of knowledge in running vinyl record stores, having spent years working in such popular Midwest record retail chains as Hegewsich Records and Woodmar Records, along with his debut in the vinyl retail world managing the fledgling single store location of Highland Records in 1977.

We opened the Michigan City location in October of 2020, during the pandemic.  This was a great space with a stage for live music. 

We closed the Michigan City store in January of 2024.  Lack of accessibility due to the South Shore tracks and street closures helped us to unfortunately make that decision.

We have 3 booths at the America's Antique Mall in Highland, IN. Booths B28, B29,and B30.  We modeled it after our two stores - very organized and everything is labeled and easy to find.  Located  at 8311 Indianapolis Blvd, Highland, IN 46322

Tom Lounges Record Bin has been the site of the taping/making of live music videos by various artists, a national documentary taping done by the Hard Rock Cafe & Casino organization, and it has been the topic of feature articles in both local and national publications.

The store's slogan is "Where the cool kids go!" because one never knows what celebrity might pop in on any given day. See this site's "Gallery" page for some of those celeb images!
